Jim Jordan rails against cancel culture for Marjorie Greene — after supporting canceling Liz Chaney

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) spoke to Fox News Wednesday to rant against the “cancel culture” of QAnon Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

“No one’s condoning the remarks that she made,” he told Fox. “I’ve not heard any Republican say that they’re appropriate. So, that’s not the issue.”

Only in recent days have Republicans been willing to denounce the claims by Greene.

“The issue,” Jordan continued, “once this starts, tell me where it ends, Sandra? Where does it — who’s next? I mean, look, look at the cancel culture, Sandra! I said this on Jan. 13 on the House floor during debate. I told the Democrats, if you guys keep going down this road, keep attacking people, their First Amendment free speech rights, where does it end? It won’t stop with Republicans. It’ll go to all of us. And 13 days later what happened in California? Dianne Feinstein’s elementary school’s name was taken off.”

As a point of fact, the decision to remove Feinstein’s name had nothing to do with free speech or cancel culture, but a movement to name schools after historic figures frequently ignored for being from minority communities.

Ironically, Jordan has been one of the leading attackers of Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WI), who spoke out against former President Donald Trump following the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

“You can’t have the leader of, the spokesperson of your conference … whose job is to talk to the American people about the Republican position, taking a position on one of the biggest votes we ever have in the United States Congress that’s against 96 percent of the conference that she’s supposed to represent,” Jordan said, advocating canceling Chaney.
