Legendary actor and civil rights activist George Takei summed up the arguments Republicans have used to distract attention from the growth of fascism during the Trump era.
Takei made his case by presenting the criticisms of Republicans with the efforts to discount the complaints.
“Your base sound like fascists,” Takei noted GOP critics warned.
“You’re too sensitive,” was the GOP reply.
“They’re marching in the streets with torches,” the critics replied, referencing the fatal 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
“Very fine people,” was the GOP reply, in reference to Trump’s infamous argument that there were fine people on both sides in Charlottesville.
“They stormed the Capitol,” the critics noted.
“Time to move on,” the GOP replied.
“People are dead,” the critics responded.
“What happened to unity?” the GOP complained.
