Cops charge West Chester student with selling pot

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A West Chester University student is charged with selling marijuana out of his dorm room after police found fliers he’d allegedly printed up to advertise his business.

Zachary Given, 19, of Caln Township is facing several charges, including felony possession of marijuana with the intent to sell.

According to court papers, West Chester University Police say they found fliers in Given’s dorm room in Brandywine Hall. Those fliers are described in the criminal complaint as having a photo of the Geico Gecko saying, “If you need edibles or carts, hit up your neighbor Zac” along with Given’s dorm room number and his Snapchat user name.

The officer was sent to the room to check on a report of people drinking and violating the no-alcohol policy.

They found the fliers when an officer saw Given trying to throw them in the trash.

After they got a warrant, they found sealed THC-infused brownies and cookies, unopened vape cartridges, $120 in cash, and what they believe to be dry-leaf marijuana.
