Injuries after police pursuit ends in Germantown

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people are in custody after a police pursuit ended in Germantown late Tuesday afternoon. A boy and a girl are hospitalized after being struck by the vehicle police were chasing.

Philadelphia police say troopers began chasing the silver Hyundai Entourage on the Schuylkill Expressway around 4 p.m. The pursuit ended when the car struck a parked vehicle in the 5200 block of Morris Street.

The parked vehicle hit the two kids: a 13-year-old girl who may have suffered a broken ankle, and a 12-year-old boy who suffered injuries to his lower left leg.

The crash scene covers both sides of the street and one vehicle is in between two parked cars. All three cars are damaged. Vehicles on the other side of the street were also banged up.
