Man accused of raping kids in South Philly home

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 69-year-old man has been charged with raping kids at a South Philadelphia day care center. 

Joseph Sposaro was arrested on July 16 by the Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit. Police records show the alleged victims were under the age of 13.

Philadelphia police say the day care center operated out of a home in the 2600 block of Carlisle Street. It was run by one of Sposaro’s family members, who lived in that home. 

Sposaro faces charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, forcible rape, unlawful restraint, endangering the welfare of children and related crimes.

Sposaro has been released after posing ten percent of $100,000 bail.
