New Brewerytown business looks to celebrate the community while bringing them together

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A new business catering to the needs of families, particularly moms and children, opens in Brewerytown next month.

Kith + Kin co-owner Eden Coffey describes her new business as a gathering space.

“We started talking about, ‘There should be a space in our neighborhood where we’re setting these roots down that celebrates the community and brings them together,'” she explained.

Coffey’s business partner Jessica Jones says this building has a children’s play space where they’ll have art, dance and yoga classes, as well as children’s birthday parties, but it’s not only for the little ones.

“We have a group on postpartum depression like a six week series, workshops focusing on pelvic floor healing,” she said. “I guess wanted to touch on that because I feel like there’s some cool mama-specific stuff.”

Coffey also says in an effort to make their educational programs available to everyone, they’re offering discounts and scholarships to Access Card holders.

“When we came into this space working together, it felt like a public health initiative to make sure that these enriching, educating programs were accessible to everybody,” she added.

Kith + Kin will open its doors April 2.
