Police: Mother of five found dead in her Mayfair home

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A mother of five was found dead inside her Mayfair home last night, and police are trying to find her killer. Police believe that the victim knew who her attacker was.

The victim had been caring for her two biological kids and three foster kids, and Captain John Walker says people who knew her are devastated.

“Obviously this girl was well liked, obviously doing the right thing fostering kids, and comes from a good family,” Walker said.

Around 7 p.m. Thursday, police say the victim’s mother called 911 after seeing the back door kicked in at her daughter’s house on Levick Street near Charles Street.

Cops got inside and say it was a gruesome scene. The victim suffered from blunt force trauma to her head. Police say they didn’t find the weapon in there. They believe this was domestic, the victim knew her killer, and there was a struggle.

Police say she was a school bus driver and her kids were with neighbors during the day. Authorities say the two biological children are with their dad while DHS is caring for the three foster kids.
