PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities say a woman driving in Philadelphia was fatally shot, causing her vehicle to crash into the steps of a home in East Germantown.
But it’s not yet known what sparked the shooting, which occurred around 11 p.m. Sunday.
Authorities say the 22-year-old woman, later identified as Acacia Nykira Byrd, was shot in the head. She lost control of the vehicle as she tried to make a turn and hit the steps.
The woman apparently was alone in the vehicle. No one on the street or in the home was injured.
Authorities say the shooter apparently fled the scene on foot and remained at large Monday.
