A group of fans were kicked out of a Miami Marlins-Colorado Rockies game for displaying a banner supporting the right-wing Proud Boys group.
Five attendees were removed from LoanDepot Park after unfurling banners justifying the Jan. 6 insurrection, which was organized and carried out by members of the Proud Boys in an effort to overturn Donald Trump’s re-election loss, reported the Miami New Times.
“PROUD BOYS DID NOTHING WRONG, FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS 1/6/21,” read one banner, while another said: “TRUMP WON, TAKE BACK AMERICA.”
No arrests were made, but police confirmed the attendees were removed by off-duty officers working security for violating stadium rules, which prohibits banners larger than 3 feet by 5 feet.
Banners must also be baseball-related, and may carry “NO statements regarding political affiliation, social and economic matters, or other statements that undermine civil liberties.”
